Taking Ownership & Embracing Accountability

Wednesday, 9/11
8AM & 12PM EST

There’s a major difference between doing a job and taking ownership. In this session, we discuss what it means to take ownership and embrace accountability in your role and on your projects, and more importantly, how to make it happen.

We will get clear and specific about the five areas of accountability – expectations, capabilities, measurement, feedback, and consequences – and how they must work together as a system. Each participant will complete their own assessment for a current project based on these areas, and we’ll discuss specific ways to increase your own personal ownership and accountability going forward.

Motivation

Wednesday, 9/18
8AM & 12PM EST
Theories of motivation have been around for decades, but our new hybrid world requires a refresh. In this module, leaders will learn how to help their teams build autonomy, mastery, and purpose in challenging environments and how to authentically and intentionally use recognition and rewards to inspire your people to do their best.

Collaboration

Wednesday, 9/25
8AM & 12PM EST
Collaboration is an overused word but underutilized leadership practice. If you want to have great collaboration, you need agility, psychological safety and intentionality. In this module, learn how to lead effective collaborations by fine tuning your team practices, creating an environment that is safe for risk taking, and being intentional about how and when work gets done together.

Conflict & Difficult Conversations

Wednesday, 10/2
8AM & 12PM EST
Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, but far too many of us vainly hope to avoid it vs. building our capacity to deal with it successfully. We teach a five-step process for approaching and resolving conflict and review how to prevent conflict from escalating. There is an interactive activity for participants to practice what they’ve learned. We’ll also spend some time focused on difficult conversations. We’ll learn the “D.E.F.I.C.I.T.” model which helps participants organize their thoughts and approach to handling difficult situations. Participants have a chance to practice in a paired exercise.

Maximizing Team Performance

Tuesday 9/17
12:00pm EST

Managers will explore how understanding and leveraging the diverse social styles within their teams can drive high performance. By recognizing the strengths, challenges, and communication preferences of each style, managers will learn to adapt their leadership approach to foster trust, collaboration, and productivity.

Through interactive exercises and real-world scenarios, Managers will gain practical strategies for adjusting their own social style to better connect with and motivate team members, leading to improved decision-making, innovation, and results.

Mastering Time Management: The Key to Success

Tuesday 9/24
12:00pm EST

Time management skills is essential for success in any fast-paced work environment. This session will introduce the Eisenhower Matrix, a powerful framework for prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance. Through interactive exercises and group discussions, participants will learn to categorize responsibilities, focus on high-impact activities, and minimize distractions. By the end of the session, participants will have a practical toolkit for optimizing time management and driving results as a leader.

Effective Feedback

Tuesday 10/1
12:00pm EST

Managers will master delivering effective feedback using the Situation-Behavior-Impact (SBI) model. Through interactive exercises and role-playing scenarios, participants will learn to structure feedback conversations by identifying specific situations, describing observable behaviors, and communicating the impact on the team and organization. They’ll also explore strategies to minimize defensiveness, promote open dialogue, and collaborate with employees on action plans for improvement.

Managers will have a toolkit of practical techniques for delivering clear, specific, and actionable feedback that drives employee development and performance.

The Art of Delegation

Tuesday 10/8
12:00pm EST

Effective delegation is crucial for managers, enabling them to focus on high-level tasks, develop their team’s skills, and foster a culture of trust and autonomy. In this session, participants will explore a simple 5-step framework for successful delegation and learn to use the Skill-Will Matrix to select the right team members for each task.

Managers will have a practical toolkit for overcoming common delegation challenges, fostering trust and autonomy, and leveraging delegation to develop their teams and achieve organizational goals.

Building Authentic Relationships

Wednesday, 10/16
11:30am EST

Building community is at the heart of what we do at The Forem. We know that teams and employees who collaborate more are more effective, innovative, and drive greater profitability for their organizations.

We teach participants, including introverts, how to build their network and create authentic, collaborative relationships across roles, offices, and business units using The Forem’s Networking and Mentoring Resources.

Self-Advocacy + Business Impact

Wednesday, 10/23
11:30am EST

Most participants can advocate for others, but not for themselves. However, it’s crucial for employees with great ideas to ensure their work and impact are recognized.

Our frameworks are grounded in the lens of company impact, and we teach employees how to advocate for their work, aligning with either driving revenue or efficiency to bolster their business case.

Personal
Branding

Wednesday, 10/30
11:30am EST

This collaborative workshop is dedicated to exploring the key ingredients needed to establish a strong and clear value prop at work. We will foster introspection to identify unique strengths and passions, workshop those assets into a personal brand statement amongst peers, and practice naturally communicating it to others.

Stakeholder
Alignment

Wednesday, 11/6
11:30am EST

In this final, culminating lesson, we teach how to identify the key influencers in a career and develop an action plan to turn them into advocates. Utilizing the Stakeholder Alignment Tool on The Forem platform, participants will continually build and refine their stakeholder map. We explore effective strategies for presenting an “offer” to executives and other career stakeholders, and outline next steps to continually amplify visibility and value throughout the organization.
