Level Up

Managing Different Styles

In this module, we draw on the DiSC model to learn about the four different styles: dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. We examine how the approach to successfully managing each style is different and look at the priorities, motivations, fears, and limitations of each style.

Feedback with Finesse

Feedback is one of the most critical things people want but often the hardest things to give. In this interactive session, we distinguish between praise vs feedback as well as judgment vs observation

We review a permission-based process for delivering feedback that yields the most impactful results, strengthens performance, and promotes partnership. We’ll look at techniques that have been proven to be most effective and share many practical tips, tools, and examples to use. Lastly, we’ll talk about receiving feedback as a skill, and how to promote a 360 feedback culture within your team and organization.

Delegation

Delegating is one of the biggest challenges managers and leaders face as it’s often easier and faster to just do something ourselves, rather than invest the time to train someone else. In this module, we’ll look at the most common barriers we face when delegating and how to overcome each one with practical tips and tools. We’ll review a framework to help us determine not just what to delegate, but how to delegate. Participants will evaluate their to-do lists and apply their learnings in real time, so they’ll leave ready to delegate with greater consistency and confidence.

Productive Conflict & Difficult Conversations

Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, but far too many of us vainly hope to avoid it vs. building our capacity to deal with it successfully.

We teach tools and strategies for approaching and resolving conflict and review how to prevent conflict from escalating. We’ll also spend some time focused on difficult conversations. We’ll learn the “D.E.F.I.C.I.T.” model which helps participants organize their thoughts and approach to handling difficult situations. Participants have a chance to practice in a paired exercise.

Building Authentic
Relationships

This introductory event is an opportunity to get to know your facilitator and cohort, and review what you can expect from the Level Up program. Learn how to cultivate authentic, long-term professional relationships (even from behind a computer), and walk away with an action plan to ignite the confidence and motivation to start building your network on day one.

Personal
Branding

This collaborative workshop is dedicated to exploring the key ingredients needed to establish your authentic self at work. We will foster introspection to identify your unique strengths and passions, workshop those assets into a personal brand statement amongst peers, and practice naturally communicating it to others.

Self-Advocacy + Business Impact

We discuss “always-on” self-advocacy. What are the daily opportunities you can leverage to ensure your work is visible and your impact undeniable? Learn an effective framework that will help you clearly communicate your value to others, particularly through the lens of company impact, so you can maximize your work to be recognized for your value.

Stakeholder
Alignment

In this final, culminating lesson, we teach you how to identify the key people that can influence your career, and develop an action plan to turn them into advocates. We will examine effective strategies for packaging your “offer” to executives and other career stakeholders, and outline next steps to continue amplifying your visibility and value throughout your organization.

FAQs

Participants have access to The Forem platform for a year from the program start date.
The workshops are all live. Recordings are provided after each workshop, but the best experience relies on participants’ live attendance.
You can purchase seats in packs of 5 (e.g., 5, 10, 15, etc.).
Workshops are non-refundable after purchase. If a participant is no longer able to attend, their seat may transfer to another participant within the same program.
We recommend that participants do a minimum of 1 mentor session per month.
Each mentor session is 30 minutes long.
We match mentors based on the information that each participant inputs during onboarding to The Forem platform.
The platform utilizes the participant’s profile information and networking goals to facilitate connections with relevant individuals.
Mentors are sourced based on areas of expertise and must have a minimum of 10 years of people or team management experience. Many of our mentors are certified coaches, and all are experienced leaders & operators in their fields.
